The Itinerary

Nicknamed the "Mini Cabot Trail," the Cape George loop (Sunrise Trail) follows the Northumberland Strait coast with views of Prince Edward Island.

Antigonish hosts the oldest Highland Games outside Scotland (since 1861). Cape George Lighthouse offers a panoramic view of St. George's Bay and the strait. Lakevale Beach and Crystal Cliffs pace the loop. The region is a Scottish stronghold — Gaelic still spoken, Celtic festivals. Best in autumn for the colours.
